More dates have been added to the itinerary as the Eagles get ready to dive into the US leg of their "Long Road Out of Eden World Tour."
As previously announced, the classic rockers will warm up with a May 2 headlining performance at Indio, CA's Stagecoach Country Music Festival and then they'll christen Alpharetta, GA's new Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre with a four-night stand (May 14, 16, 17, 20). The original one-night booking in the Atlanta area has continued to expand due to "overwhelming demand" for tickets, according to organizers.
Since last check, the Eagles have added two-night stands in New York City, Boston and Newark, NJ, as well as shows in Charlottesville, VA, and Moncton, New Brunswick. Details are listed below.
On the road, the band is expected to play its classic hits as well as material from its latest album, "Long Road Out of Eden," which is the Eagles' first collection of new material in 28 years. The two-disc set debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 in November, selling more than 711,000 copies its first week out, and has since been certified seven-times platinum. The lead single, "How Long," earned the group another Grammy--Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals--at February's ceremony.
The Eagles are currently vying for Vocal Group of the Year at the May 18 Academy of Country Music Awards, and Wide Open Country Video of the Year for "How Long" at next week's CMT Music Awards. Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit will be presenters at the latter ceremony.
The Eagles have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, earning five No. 1 singles and five Grammy Awards, according to a press release. The veteran rockers' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975" is the best-selling album of all time in the US.
