Brad Paisley announces huge summer trek

Country star Brad Paisley has unveiled a mammoth summer schedule that features a few special guests who'll join him on the road as he looks to continue backing his current CD, "5th Gear."

The upcoming Paisley Party tour, which kicks off June 11 in Albuquerque, NM, launches with an initial slate of 42 dates, a number that could grow before the year is done. The singer's 2007 Bonfires and Amplifiers tour played to over one million fans, proving so successful that Paisley kept extending its expiration date all the way into last month.

Paisley will be joined on the upcoming trek by singer/songwriter Jewel , whose forthcoming country-tinged "Perfectly Clear" (co-produced by John Rich of Big & Rich) will hit stores June 3. Country singers Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough will also be along to provide support. Dates are below.

Paisley is supporting his latest album, "5th Gear," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and No. 3 on The Billboard 200 last summer. The record earned the performer the highest first-week sales of his career, with more than 197,000 copies snatched up, according to a press release.

The album's fourth single, "I'm Still a Guy," follows three straight No. 1 songs from the set, with his tenth overall No. 1 single, "Letter To Me," following previous chart-toppers "Ticks" and "Online."

Paisley, who recently received his first Grammy Award (Best Country Instrumental, for "Throttleneck"), grabbed four Academy of Country Music Awards nominations earlier this week. In addition to Album of the Year, Paisley is also nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist and Video of the Year for "Online."
