Def Leppard, Styx, REO Speedwagon together again

Classic rockers Def Leppard , Styx and REO Speedwagon are joining forces once again for a North American tour.

The initial itinerary shows the trek launching March 27 in Greensboro, NC, and visiting cities in North Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Michigan, Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba through mid-April. About half the shows on the 20-date outing have been revealed, with the rest due shortly. Confirmed concerts are listed below. Tickets go on sale beginning next week.

The bands also expect to stick together for a European run in May and June.

Def Leppard has been working on its 12th studio album, "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge," a release date for which has not been set, according to various reports. The forthcoming record will follow the rockers' 2006 offering, "Yeah," which features their take on songs by The Kinks, Badfinger, T. Rex, David Bowie, Sweet, Roxy Music, Mott the Hoople, Free, The Faces and Thin Lizzy, among others.

Styx has its own set of US dates leading up to the triple-bill tour. The band will focus on the East Coast and West Coast during a monthlong trek that begins Jan. 18 in Duluth, GA. Details are available at Styx's website. The group's latest release is 2006's "One With Everything," a live CD/DVD set that captures Styx performing its hit songs with The Contemporary Youth Orchestra of Cleveland.

REO Speedwagon, which also has a few of its own dates listed at its website, continues to support April's "Find Your Own Way Home," the band's first collection of new material in more than a decade.
