Fiery Furnaces map early year trek

Prolific indie rockers The Fiery Furnaces launch a headlining tour later this month behind their latest studio album, "Widow City," with another set already in the works for summer.

The Brooklyn-based outfit--which is primarily built around siblings Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger--kicks off the mid-winter stretch Jan. 17 in Hoboken, NJ. The 20-city run includes five shows late in the month and early in February with Super Furry Animals. All dates are below.

The Friedbergers continue to tour behind their sixth full-length album, "Widow City." Released in October, the album follows 2006's "Bitter Tea."

The pair recently told the Toronto Globe and Mail newspaper and the Torontoist city paper that they were planning on recording material this month for a new album due for release this summer.

The duo also hinted that a possible live album might be in the works as a download or Internet-only release. "It won't be a regular record [sold] in the stores," Matthew Friedberger told the Torontoist.
