Korn has announced a series of North American headlining dates that will follow the band’s stint on Metallica’s Summer Sanitarium Tour. Korn’s tour will kick off on July 18 in Fargo, N.D., two days after the Sanitarium tour wraps up in Arizona.
The new tour dates for Korn include a July 21 show in Moline, Ill., which is a make-up date for a concert originally scheduled to take place on April 21 during the first leg of the band’s headlining tour. That show was cancelled after drummer David Silvera injured his wrist.
“Issues” (Immortal/Epic), Korn’s fourth album, was released last November, and has since been certified triple-platinum by the RIAA. The band is also featured on the recently released live album “The Family Values Tour 1999” (Interscope), which hosts tracks from Limp Bizkit, Filter, Primus and others. Korn founded the annual Family Values Tour in 1998.
Fellow Summer Sanitarium tourmates Powerman 5000 have been tagged to open for Korn, along with newcomers Papa Roach . Powerman 5000 is touring in support of its album “Tonight the Stars Revolt” (Dreamworks), the band’s second major-label release. Papa Roach, meanwhile, is touring behind “Infest” (Dreamworks), the band’s major-label debut.
The Summer Sanitarium Tour begins on June 30 in Massachusetts. Korn’s subsequent headlining tour is currently scheduled to run until August 20.
