Van Halen continues mapping 2008 shows

Days after unveiling a comprehensive list of dates for the next leg of their successful semi-reunion tour, classic rockers Van Halen have rolled out a few new dates for the run.

New to the group's recently announced itinerary are stops in Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale and Little Rock, AR. The trio of shows pads an itinerary that kicks off in late January and currently comprises stops in about 30 cities through early April. Tickets for most shows are on sale now, except where noted in the itinerary included below.

Van Halen has been on the road since late September for its first tour in 22 years with original singer David Lee Roth. In addition to Roth, the group's lineup features founding brothers Eddie and Alex Van Halen, as well as Eddie's 16-year-old son, Wolfgang Van Halen, who has replaced original bassist Michael Anthony.

Roth and company have been garnering rave reviews for the nostalgia outing, performances for which have featured a setlist comprised entirely of songs released during Roth's original 1978-1985 tenure with the band.

The Southern California-based group will remain close to home for the remainder of this year as they close out the tour's inaugural leg with shows in four California cities and a two-night stand in Las Vegas at the end of the month. Details are included below.

In related news, guitarist Eddie Van Halen got hit with some bad luck today when a broken water main flooded his yard; according to the Los Angeles Times, the rocker's front gate, swimming pool and front wall of his estate were swamped with mud and debris. A photo on the newspaper's website shows Van Halen's pool completely filled with mud. Firefighters sandbagged his home to prevent further property damage, according to the report.
