The Foo Fighters --who picked up five Grammy nominations this morning (12/6)--have added new dates to both of their early 2008 adventures, a two-month North American tour followed by a run through Australia and New Zealand.
The North American trek keeps its previously announced kick-off date--Jan. 16 in Sunrise, FL--with the outing now stretched to 28 stops after the addition of shows in Reno, NV (2/1); Oakland, CA (2/2); Council Bluffs, IA (2/28); and Glendale, AZ (3/1). Dates are provided below.
The band also added several new appearances to its upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand, which launches in April following the domestic outing. The complete overseas itinerary can be found at the band's website.
The group is supporting its sixth studio effort, "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace," which debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 in September. The album, which reunites the band with Gil Norton, who produced the group's 1997 breakthrough, "The Colour and the Shape," nabbed five Grammy nominations, including one for Album of the Year.
Lead single "The Pretender"--which has spent 16 weeks in the No. 1 slot on Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart--grabbed nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.
"Echoes" follows the band's 2005 platinum-selling double-album, "In Your Honor," which spawned the No. 1 mainstream- and modern-rock hit "Best of You" and led to the band's biggest-selling tour to date, according to a press release.
