Motion City Soundtrack backs new album with lengthy outing

Indie rockers Motion City Soundtrack pack up for more headlining dates this month as the band continues to back its recently released third studio album, "Even If It Kills Me."

The Minneapolis-bred five-piece kicked off a fall/winter trek last month; with 11 shows in the bag, the tour resumes tomorrow night (11/2) in Atlanta, GA. The group has 30 cities left to hit on the mammoth outing, which runs midway through December. All remaining dates are shown below.

A trio of alt-rock/emo acts--Mae, Anberlin and Metro Station--will be along for the ride to provide opening support during the tour. Tickets for all shows currently are on sale.

Released in September, "Even If It Kills Me" is the follow-up to 2005's radio-friendly "Commit This to Memory," which was produced by Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 fame and found its way onto heavy rotation play on alternative radio stations.

The new set, which features production by former Cars frontman Ric Ocasek on five tracks, includes guest vocals by Max Bemis of Say Anything, Rachel Minton of Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, and Shawn Harris of The Matches.

The video for the album's first single, "This is For Real," is streaming at Motion City Soundtrack's MTVU mini-site.
