Carrie Underwood notches her first No. 1 album
With about 527,000 copies sold during its first week in stores, Carrie Underwood 's "Carnival Ride" debuts atop the latest Billboard 200 album chart, marking the first No. 1 album for the "American Idol" alumna.
"Raising Sand," an album that pairs Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant with bluegrass star Alison Krauss , debuts at No. 2 on the chart with 112,000 copies sold. Country singer Gary Allan 's "Living Hard" checks in at No. 3 with 69,000 copies sold, according to Billboard, which bases its album chart on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.
"Elect the Dead," the solo debut of System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian , sold a few hundred fewer copies than Allan, and enters the chart at No. 4. Josh Groban 's "Noel" slips a notch to No. 5 with 65,000 copies sold, Billboard reports.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Coheed and Cambria 's "No World for Tomorrow," Kid Rock 's "Rock N Roll Jesus," Rascal Flatts ' "Still Feels Good," Seether 's "Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces," and the "High School Musical 2" soundtrack.
