Stevie Wonder tours into fall
Motown legend Stevie Wonder , who in August set out on his first tour in 12 years, has added a fall run to the outing.
Dates resume Oct. 25 in Montreal, after which time Wonder will play a handful of shows in the eastern US, including a two-night stand in Atlantic City. At the moment, the trek is scheduled to wrap Nov. 17 at New York City's Madison Square Garden. Details are listed below.
The singer/songwriter's rare road trip reportedly was inspired by his mother, Lula Mae Hardaway, who passed away last year. Hardaway is also the muse behind Wonder's upcoming album, "The Gospel Inspired by Lula," which he hopes to have ready by January to honor his mother's birthday, according to Billboard.
In August, Wonder released "Number Ones," a collection of 20 chart-topping classics from his career, which spans five decades.
His latest studio album, "A Time to Love," surfaced in 2005, reaching No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and spawning the singles "So What the Fuss," "Shelter in the Rain" and "From the Bottom of my Heart."
Over the course of his career, Wonder has scored more than 30 Top 10 hits and taken home about two-dozen Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
