Bob Dylan adds new shows to tour with Elvis Costello

Just a few days before the tour gets underway, Bob Dylan has added some new dates to his arena trek with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Elvis Costello .

The 27-date outing, which kicks off Saturday (9/22) in Duluth, GA, now features dates in Cincinnati, Iowa City and a three-night engagement in Chicago (Oct. 27-29) as the tour begins to expand from a primarily East Coast itinerary.

Information on ticket presales for the new dates will be announced, as usual, through Dylan's website. The full list of dates is below.

Dylan will be supporting his forthcoming career retrospective, "Dylan." Due Oct. 1 on his longtime record label, Columbia, the collection will come in two versions: a three-disc, 51-track deluxe edition and the smaller 18-song, single-disc set.

Last year, the folk/rock legend released "Modern Times," his first new studio set since 2001's "Love and Theft." The album shot to No. 1 on The Billboard 200.

The fall outing marks Costello's first solo performances in 12 years, according to his publicist. His most recent release, last year's "The River in Reverse," is a collaboration with New Orleans musician Allen Toussaint in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The Grammy-nominated album was followed by the DVD "Hot as a Pistol, Keen as a Blade," which captures a live show from the duo's 2006 tour.
