With a new album due next week, the Foo Fighters are adding more dates to their US run.
The outing launches tonight (9/20) with a club show in New York City, followed by a half-dozen club and arena dates along the East Coast next month. The latest cities to grace the itinerary are Charlotte, NC; Wilkes-Barre, PA; and Glen Falls, NY. Tickets for those gigs go on sale tomorrow (9/21). The band's US schedule is listed below.
The Foo Fighters will head to the UK in November for a two-week tour that is already sold out, according to the band's website. Those dates wrap Nov. 17-18 with a two-night stand at London's O2 arena.
The Grammy-winning rockers are gearing up for the Sept. 25 release of their sixth studio effort, "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace." Fans who pre-purchase the set through Ticketmaster's website will gain entrance to the Foo Fighters' Sept. 24 album-release show at Los Angeles' Henry Fonda Theater. No tickets will be sold to the event; only CD purchasers will have access. Details are available at the band's website. (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company.)
"Echoes" marks the first time the Foos have worked with producer Gil Norton since 1997's double-platinum seller "The Colour and the Shape," which was recently remastered and reissued as a 10th anniversary deluxe edition with six bonus tracks. The forthcoming set is currently streaming in its entirety at MTV's The Leak website.
The album's lead single, "The Pretender," premiered on ESPN last month and was featured throughout the network's coverage of the Summer X-Games. The song is currently making waves on Billboard's rock and pop charts.
