Klaxons plot North American dates

British indie rockers Klaxons will celebrate their recent nabbing of the UK's vaunted Mercury Prize with a visit to North America this fall.

The London-based quartet will kick off its outing Sept. 23 in Boston, the first of 14 cities the band has planned for the trek, which will include shows in Canada and Mexico. The outing includes a Sept. 24 appearance at New York's Madison Square Garden, where the band will open for Bjork . All of the band's dates are included below.

In claiming the Mercury Prize for its debut set, "Myths of the Near Future," the group had to beat out competition that included Amy Winehouse and Arctic Monkeys. The award is presented annually for the best album from the UK or Republic of Ireland.

"The Mercury Prize is about pushing music forward and this is what we did," bassist/vocalist Jamie Reynolds said in a press statement. Previous years' winners include PJ Harvey and Franz Ferdinand.

Released in January, "Myths" was produced by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco) and featured a trio of UK Top 50 singles in "Magick," "Golden Skans," and "Gravity's Rainbow."
