US tour dates are starting to roll in for the Foo Fighters , who have a new album ready to hit the streets this month.
The alt-rockers' next gig is this Saturday (9/15) at Carson, CA's KROQ LA Invasion, after which they'll move onto New York City, New Orleans, Atlanta and Atlantic City through early October. More US shows are expected to be announced shortly, according to a press release. Confirmed gigs are listed below.
The Foo Fighters also have a UK arena tour booked in November. That 9-show run, which is detailed at the band's website, wraps Nov. 18 following a two-night stand at London's O2 arena.
The Grammy-winning group's sixth studio release, "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace," is due Sept. 25. The set marks the first time the Foos have worked with producer Gil Norton since 1997's double-platinum seller "The Colour and the Shape," which was recently remastered and reissued as a 10th anniversary deluxe edition with six bonus tracks.
The new album's lead single, "The Pretender," premiered on ESPN last month and was featured throughout the network's coverage of the Summer X-Games. The song is streaming at the Foo Fighters' MySpace page.
"Echoes" follows the band's 2005 double-album, "In Your Honor," which comprises a disc of aggressive hard rock and one of more delicate acoustic tracks. That platinum-selling set spawned the No. 1 mainstream- and modern-rock hit "Best of You." and led to the band's biggest-selling tour to date, according to a press release.
Last year, the Foo Fighters staged an intimate theater tour to showcase material from the quieter side of "In Your Honor." That trek was documented on the live CD and DVD sets "Skin and Bones," which surfaced in November.
