Elton John adds shows ahead of 'Red Piano' run

In addition to his Las Vegas concert series and tour dates all over the world, Elton John has recently added a few gigs in the Mountain West and Midwest.

Following his current European tour, the Rocket Man will visit Montana for two September shows and hit Missouri next month for a couple more. Then it's off to Vegas, where John will continue his Red Piano concert extravaganza through Nov. 5. Dates are listed below.

After his US run, the superstar will make his way through Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa through mid-January. Details about those shows can be found at John's website.

The Grammy-winning singer has much to celebrate this year--his fourth decade on the road, his 60th birthday and his record 60th show at New York City's Madison Square Garden. John marked those accomplishments in March with the release of "Rock Man - Number Ones," an 18-song set of hits covering the first 35 years of his career.

The BBC's Radio 2 recently honored John with a three-hour special entitled "The Continuing Adventures of Captain Fantastic-Elton at 60," which features music and interviews. The full audio broadcast is being made available at John's website, spread out in 12 segments in the coming weeks. The first four are currently streaming.

John and his longtime collaborator, Bernie Taupin, offered their latest set of new material last year with "The Captain & The Kid," which is billed as a sequel to 1975's "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy."
