
"The Pretender," the first single from the Foo Fighters ' forthcoming studio album, "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace," will premiere during tonight's (8/3) ESPN broadcast of the Summer X-Games, and will also be featured prominently throughout ESPN's coverage of the games, according to a press release.
Fans will be able to purchase the cut via digital-download retailers beginning Tuesday (8/7), the press release said. Meanwhile, "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" hits the street Sept. 25.
Eagle Rock Enttertainment has announced an Oct. 29 release date for a new DVD that features live footage of legendary rockers Queen . "Queen Rock Montreal" captures the group's November 1981 tour stop in the Canadian city. It will be available as a single, 95-minute disc, and will also be issued as a special edition that will include a bonus DVD featuring the British rockers performing at the July 1985 Live Aid concert.
Dropkick Murphys have nailed down a Sept. 18 release for their sixth studio album, "The Meanest of All Times." The group is issuing the self-produced set on its own Born & Bred Records label in association with Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group, according to a presss release. The set features guest appearances from Spider Stacey of The Pogues and Ronnie Drew of The Dubliners.
"Iggy Pop - Live San Fran 1981"--a concert album that captures the punk legend performing in the Bay Area 26 years ago during a tour that backed his album of that same year, "Party"--is due in stores Sept. 18. The disc will also include two previously unreleased bonus tracks from a 1983 recording session that Pop had with Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, according to a press release.
