Yeah Yeah Yeahs plot August shows around festivals

New York's indie-rocking Yeah Yeah Yeahs have wrapped a few headlining dates around their upcoming appearances at a pair of gigantic summer music festivals.

The band--which is slated for the Aug. 4 Lollapalooza in Chicago, followed by a quick dash to Baltimore for the next day's Virgin Festival--will kick off a brief calendar of its own shows Wednesday night (8/1) in Lawrence, KS. The outing totals five headlining shows in addition to the pair of festivals, and runs through an Aug. 18 appearance in Mansfield, MA, near Boston. Dates are shown below.

The group is touring behind a new EP, "Is Is." Released July 24, the EP features previously unreleased tracks recorded in 2004, a few which made it onto the band's 2004 live DVD, "Tell Me What Rockers to Swallow."
"Is Is" was produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Talking Heads), and features artwork by Julian Gross of experimental indie rockers The Liars.

The EP follows last year's "Show Your Bones," the band's sophomore full-length after its 2003 debut, "Fever to Tell."
