"I am very pleased that audiences will have the opportunity to experience 'Shine a Light' in IMAX," Scorsese said in a prepared statement. "The larger-than-life images and sound of an IMAX theatre will only enhance the experience of giving viewers the best seat in the house to watch The Rolling Stones perform," said Mr. Scorsese.
The film, which also will be released simultaneously in standard movie theaters, features footage Scorcese shot during a two-day period at New York City's Beacon Theater, where the Stones performed while in the midst of their tour behind 2005's "A Bigger Bang."

Prosecutors reportedly have dropped charges for the second time against a man accused of shooting Kinks frontman Ray Davies in the leg during a 2004 robbery in New Orleans' French Quarter. In both instances, the charges were dropped because Davies did not appear in court to testify against the alleged assailant, Jerome Barra, 28.
"I am very disappointed with the way this case has been handled," the Associated Press quoted Davies as saying. "I intend to pursue it further."
Davies claimed prosecutors notified him only a few days prior to the trial that he was due in court, and he explained that he didn't have time to get to New Orleans from London, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
