Dave Matthews Band and Starbucks team for live release

Starbucks customers can get a little Dave Matthews Band with their lattes beginning tomorrow (7/31), when the band's latest live work makes it way into the coffee giant's stores.

The latest edition of "Live Trax," which the band has made available for several years at its concerts, will be exclusively available at Starbucks, marking the first national retail release for the series, which features live performances from the band's collection of archived material.

Starbucks and XM Radio will partner to promote the release, with the satellite radio service re-launching the "Starbucks XM Cafe" music channel concurrently with the DMB release. The coffee retailer will also hold an in-store sweepstakes for customers who sign up for a free XM Radio trial, with prizes including tickets to DMB concerts and meet-and-greet opportunities with the group.

The Starbucks-exclusive version of "Live Trax" features recordings ranging from a 1995 appearance at the Meadow Brook Music Festival in Rochester, NY, to the band's 2007 show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The Dave Matthews Band is currently preparing to launch a long summer tour, kicking off a two-month, 28-city outing with an Aug. 1-2 engagement in Mansfield, MA, a suburb 30 miles south of Boston. The trek includes a Matthews solo acoustic performance at the 2007 edition of Willie Nelson's Farm Aid festival, which is set to take place Sept. 9 in Randall's Island, NY.
