Arcade Fire adds more 'Bible' chapters

Arcade Fire 's impending fall tour continues to gradually expand, as the band adds several new dates to its calendar with more shows in the works, according to the group's publicist.

The Canadian indie rockers will kick off their outing Sept. 15 in Austin, TX, as part of the Austin City Limits Festival, before headlining a Sept. 17 show at suburban Denver's Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The first of the newly confirmed shows comes Sept. 30 in St. Paul, MN.

Electronica act LCD Soundsystem will handle opening duties for all shows on the trek, which runs through an Oct. 6 appearance in New York. Dates are shown below.

Arcade Fire is touring behind its second studio album, "Neon Bible," which surfaced in March and peaked at No. 2 on The Billboard 200. The Montreal-based band recorded the self-produced set in a small church outside of its hometown.

"After trying to decide if we should work with any producers, we kind of realized that we already know how we want things to sound so we should just run after that sound as fast as [we] can and not rely on someone else to guide the good ship Arcade Fire," frontman Win Butler said in a posting at the band's website.

"Neon Bible" is the follow-up to Arcade Fire's critically acclaimed 2004 debut, "Funeral," which earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Rock Album.
