Wilco adds new shows to fall outing

Wilco has squeezed a handful of new shows into its upcoming late-summer/early-fall trek behind the band's recent studio release, "Sky Blue Sky."

The Chicago alt-rockers, as previously reported, will launch their outing Aug. 14 in Duluth, MN. The new dates include an Aug. 20 show in Vancouver, with the bulk of the new appearances coming toward the end of the tour, which winds down in late September. The full schedule is included below.

"Sky Blue Sky," the band's seventh studio album, follows 2004's "A Ghost is Born." The group self-produced the set in its own Chicago studio, with TJ Doherty (Sonic Youth, The Hold Steady) handling recording chores and Jim Scott (The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dixie Chicks) doing the mixing.

Released May 15, the disc debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 album chart, marking the band's highest debut ever.

In other Wilco-related news, drummer Glenn Kotche will premiere his new composition "Anomaly" Oct. 25-26 at the San Francisco Jazz Festival. Kotche will team up with avant-garde chamber music act Krono Quartet to perform the piece; more information can be found at the festival's website.
