Blue Man Group has added a third US leg to its "How to Be a Megastar Tour 2.1," which has been rocking North and South America since last fall.
Following tours of Brazil, Chile and Canada, the musical theater troupe will launch another US run beginning Oct. 5 in Houston. The trek will hit more than 40 cities, primarily in the East and southern US, including two-night stands in Dallas and Atlanta. North American shows are listed below.
"The fan response to the Megastar event has been outstanding across the country and the demand for encore performances is far-reaching," Executive Tour Producer Paul J. Emery III said in a statement. "We are thrilled to be able to add an additional US leg of the tour following the group's international performances."
An eight-piece band joins the blue men on the road for a unique production that combines music, comedy and multimedia theatrics. The stage shows have inspired three Blue Man Group albums: 1999's Grammy-nominated "Audio"; 2003's "The Complex," which features collaborations with Dave Matthews, Tracy Bonham, Dan the Automator and Esthero; and last year's "Live at the Venetian--Las Vegas," which is available exclusively at iTunes.
In addition to the touring company, Blue Man Group has ongoing shows at theaters in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, London, Berlin, Amsterdam and Oberhausen.
The franchise also includes forays into film and television scoring, commercial campaigns, toy development, and a children's museum exhibit, "Making Waves," which is touring the country, according to Blue Man Group's website.
