Alt-bluegrass group Nickel Creek has announced a handful of new shows as the outfit prepares to go on extended hiatus following its appearances this summer and fall.
The new dates include one additional show featuring Fiona Apple , who, as previously reported, will hit the road with the group for its shows in August. The new addition is an Aug. 9 date wedged in between appearances in Columbus, OH, and Highland Park, IL.
In addition to a new Aug. 31 show with Ben Harper in Snowmass, CO, the Nickel Creek has added a pair of non-Apple club shows at the October end of its current schedule: Oct. 8 in Orlando, and Oct. 18 in Bloomington, IN. The group's full schedule is included below.
Last August, the band members announced that, after seven straight years of touring, they plan to part ways indefinitely to focus on individual projects.
The group's most recent album was last November's CD/DVD dual release, "Reasons Why: The Very Best." The best-of set includes 14 tracks and seven videos from throughout the band's career.
