Alt-rockers Brand New are joining up with Thrice and MewithoutYou this fall for a US tour of clubs and theaters.
The bands will start Oct. 18-19 with a two-night stand in Detroit. They'll also do double duty in Seattle and Houston, with a three-night run booked at Los Angeles' Wiltern Theatre. Details are listed below.
Brand New, which has been touring the US and Europe this year, continues to support its third album, "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me," which surfaced in November. The band has a short run of Euro dates set for August and will play a few US gigs in September, including two days at San Diego's Street Scene festival. Details for those shows can be found at Brand New's website along with the itinerary for frontman Jesse Lacey's 13-city solo trek with Kevin Devine in July and August.
Thrice may have a new album out by the time the triple-bill tour rolls around. A posting yesterday (7/4) at the group's online studio journal said recording is finished and master tapes are in hand. Late last month, the California-based band announced it had parted ways with Island Records and was in the process of finding a new label. The group's most recent album is 2005's "Vheissu," which was produced by Steve Osborne (U2, Peter Gabriel).
