Despite his involvement in an increasingly wide range of business ventures, Jimmy Buffett will find time for hardcore Parrotheads this summer with a slate of newly mapped shows.
In addition to a number of previously announced July concerts, the singer will tackle a few new dates in August and September, including a pair of shows at New York's Madison Square Garden and another two-night stand at Las Vegas's MGM Grand resort.
With the performer's latest book, "Swine Not?," due out in November, and his Margaritaville bar/restaurant-chain empire continuing to expand, Buffett's 2007 outing, which kicks off July 21 in Tinley Park, IL, is not as extensive as some of his past tours, with the singer shifting in recent years to a more casual schedule featuring around 20-30 concert dates annually. His current schedule is included below.
Buffett's most recent album, "Live at Texas Stadium," hit stores in April, and captures his May 2004 concert with Alan Jackson and George Strait at the Dallas venue. Buffett released his latest studio album, "Take the Weather With You," in October. That followed 2004's "License to Chill," a collection of country/pop duets that earned the singer/songwriter his first No. 1 record.
In June, Buffett announced a partnership with Harrahs Entertainment to build the Margaritaville Casino & Resort in Biloxi, MS, near the singer's birthplace of Pascagoula, MS. When completed, according to a press release, the resort will feature 798 rooms, a full-service spa and an island-themed pool area complete with cabanas.
