The second-annual edition of '60s-rock revival Hippiefest looks set to roll in July with a lineup headed by The Turtles , Felix Cavaliere 's Rascals and The Zombies .
The traveling nostalgia festival will also feature iconic '60s and '70s acts such as Mitch Ryder , Mountain, Country Joe McDonald, Badfinger, Iron Butterfly, Denny Laine and Melanie. The lineup will vary slightly from one stop to the next.
The revue kicks off July 25 in Toronto, the first of 21 cities the festival plans to hit this summer. The full itinerary is included below.
Last year's first incarnation of Hippiefest featured a similar collection of acts but a much briefer itinerary, with only about half the number of shows as this year, and mostly centered in Northeastern locales.
"This festival is for people who weren't around in the '60s and '70s or were and just can't seem to remember," Hippiefest founder Toby Ludwig said in a press statement. "Bring your parents, your grandparents and your kids. Come be a Hippie for a day!"
Organizers promise that a "full line of flower power paraphernalia such as tie-dye T-shirts, skirts, caps, bags, stickers and posters" will be available for fans to purchase onsite.
