Deftones rack up more dates ahead of US trek

Less than two weeks before the launch of the Deftones ' US tour, the band has added a dozen more dates.

The alt-metal rockers now have more than 40 shows scheduled on the outing, which gets under way May 11 in Mesa, AZ. Cities recently added to the itinerary include Cincinnati and Columbus, OH; Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, PA; Grand Rapids, MI; Wichita, KS; Omaha, NE; Las Vegas; San Francisco; Seattle; and Portland, OR (two nights); as well as a second night in New York City.

The Deftones will also play double shots in Albuquerque, NM; Dallas; San Antonio, TX; New Orleans; Washington, DC; and Salt Lake City, UT.

Seattle trio The Fall of Troy will support the entire tour, dates for which are listed below.

The Deftones have been on the road non-stop this year, having already toured Mexico, South America, Japan, Australia and Europe.

The Grammy-winning band is supporting its fifth studio album, "Saturday Night Wrist," which hit the streets last October. A couple of songs from the set, including the second single "Mein," are streaming at the Deftones' MySpace page.

"Saturday Night Wrist" followed the group's 2005 "B-Sides & Rarities" collection and its 2003 self-titled studio album.
