O.A.R. set to launch massive summer tour

Alternative rockers O.A.R. , currently finishing up their spring tour, have announced dates for a huge summer run kicking off in June behind the release of the band's new dual CD/DVD live set.

The Ohio band has mapped out more then two months of shows for summer, with more dates expected to follow as gaps in the itinerary are filled.

The band will finish up its spring outing early in May and launch its summer tour five weeks later, with a June 13 show in Anaheim, CA. The 36-city trek will hit just about every major metropolitan area on the continent, and currently runs well into the latter half of August. Details are included below.

Presale tickets for most of the band's summer shows are available now. The general on-sale for the majority of dates on the West Coast run will begin April 28, and tickets for many of the remaining dates will become available May 5. More information on presales can be found at O.A.R.'s official website.

The band's new concert album, "Live From Madison Square Garden," documents its January performance at the historic venue. Available in 2-CD and 2-DVD packages, both versions will hit stores the same day, June 5. The DVD version features a 90-minute concert film directed by Sam Erickson, who filmed similar features for My Morning Jacket and John Mayer.

The band's most recent studio album was 2005's "Stories of a Stranger," which featured a pair of radio-friendly hits in "Love and Memories" and "Heard the World," as well as "Lay Down." The latter song's companion video was honored with the "Streaming Woodie," presented to the year's most downloaded video, at the 2006 mtvU Woodie Awards.
