Soulfly Replaces Ministry On Ozzfest’s Second Stage

Industrial rockers Ministry won't headline the second stage at Ozzfest this year. That honor will instead go to Soulfly , who have opted to tour with Ozzfest rather than Tattoo the Earth, another summer metal-fest.

The reasons behind the change weren't offered by Ozzfest officials.

The line-up for Ozzfest's main stage will be Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera, Godsmack, Static X, Incubus, Methods of Mayhem, P.O.D., Queens of the Stone Age and Apartment 2B. Second stage acts include Kittie, Taproot, Primer 55, Pitchshifter, Disturbed, Crazytown, the Deadlights, Shuvel, Slaves on Dope, Reveille (through July 30) and Pumpjack (beginning Aug. 4).

In other Ozzfest news, a show that was previously planned for the Alltel Pavilion in Raleigh, N.C., on July 6 has been cancelled so that the roof of the facility can be repaired. According to a statement issued by the venue, the roof sustained damage during two separate storms last fall. Under the terms of the venue's original construction warranty, repairs are made at the sole discretion of the contractor, and the contractor scheduled repairs for July 5 and 6.

To fill in the gap on the schedule, a new Ozzfest show has been announced for AmSouth Pavilion near Nashville. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale for that show on May 27.
