The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder have signed on to headline the annual "Hullabaloo" benefit concert, which is set to take place next month.
Proceeds from the May 5 event, which is booked into Los Angeles' Music Box at the Henry Fonda Theater, will benefit the nonprofit Silverlake Conservatory of Music (SCM), which RHCP bassist Flea co-founded in 2001 with Keith Barry, dean of SCM. Funds from the "Hullabaloo" concert will, among other things, provide scholarships to more than 100 low-income students whose families would otherwise be unable to afford instruments and/or lessons, and will also help to expand the school's summer-camp program, according to a press release.
Tickets--which are priced at $250 for general admission and $500 for V.I.P. access--will be available exclusively via the SCM's website starting April 21. Attendance is limited to 1,400 guests.
