The Police add Churchill Downs, Wrigley Field dates

The Police continue to add shows to their upcoming world tour, including two more high-profile stadium dates in the US.

The band has been tapped to play the second major concert ever at Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, on July 14. The Rolling Stones broke in the Louisville, KY, stadium last September.

Churchill Downs tickets, which range from $50 to $225, go on sale to the general public March 26. Pre-sales for fan club members commence tomorrow (3/22) morning.

The Police will also take over Chicago's Wrigley Field July 5. Other stadium dates on the schedule include Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium, Miami's Dolphin Stadium, Boston's Fenway Park and East Rutherford, NJ's Giants Stadium.

The latest gig added to the hot-ticket tour is June 21 at Anaheim, CA's Honda Center. The booking brings The Police's total of scheduled Los Angeles-area shows to three. An updated itinerary is listed below.

More shows are also trickling in for the European leg of the trek. Those dates are listed at The Police tour's website.

Fiction Plane , the rock band fronted by Sting's son Joe Sumner, will open the entire North American outing, and several shows will feature special guests including the Foo Fighters, Sloan, The Fratellis and Maroon 5. Details about those appearances can be found at the tour website.

North American shows launch May 28 with two nights in Vancouver, British Columbia, and quick sell-outs have also led to back-to-back dates in Denver, Seattle, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal, Boston and New York City.
