British alternative rock trio Placebo will return to North America in April for a new round of concert dates as they continue to back theist most recent album, last year's "Meds."
The group will kick off its headlining run April 6 in Boston, MA, with 14 shows leading up to the band's April 29 slot at Indio, CA's Coachella Music Festival.
Released last May, "Meds" is the follow-up to 2003's "Sleeping With Ghosts." The new disc features guest appearances from Michael Stipe (R.E.M.) on the cut "Broken Promise," and Alison Mosshart (The Kills) on the set's title track.
Placebo's MySpace website features a track-by-track explanation of the meaning behind all 13 songs on "Meds," along with audio streams of the "Meds" cuts "Infra Red" and "Pierrot the Clown."
According to the band's publicist, the band has racked up more than five million listens to the streaming cuts available on its MySpace page, including more than a million for the album's title track alone.
