Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy is gearing up to headline his first major national outing as part of the Street Dream Tour, which also features Jim Jones , Baby , Lil Wayne , Fat Joe and newcomer Rich Boy.
The seven-week trek launches March 3 in Charlotte, NC, and plays cities in the Eastern half of the US before wrapping April 29 in Los Angeles. Details are listed below.
Young Jeezy is supporting his platinum sophomore studio set, "The Inspiration," which hit the streets in December and rocketed to No. 1 on the US album chart. The record spawned the hit "I Luv It," and the new single, "Go Getta" featuring R. Kelly, is currently making the rounds at radio and MTV. The video for "Go Getta" is streaming at Young Jeezy's website.
"The Inspiration" follows Jeezy's 2005 platinum-selling Def Jam Records debut, "Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101." The new record features collaborators including Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Keyshia Cole, Three 6 Mafia, Timbaland, T.I. and G-Unit's Young Buck.
Jeezy is also getting ready for the first release from his Corporate Thugz Entertainment co-venture. The group USDA (United Streets D-Boys of America), which comprises Jeezy and MCs Slick Pulla and Blood Raw, is scheduled to release its major-label debut, "Corporate Thuggin," in April, according to Jeezy's website. The album's first single, "Check," hits radio this week.
Songs from Jeezy and USDA are streaming at Young Jeezy's website and MySpace page.
With all of his projects and his success, Jeezy has managed to stick close to his roots. In November, he and DJ Drama dropped the latest installment of the Gangsta Grillz mixtape series. The mixtapes are what brought Young Jeezy national attention back in 2003.
The rapper recently told MTV that he will work on his third album while on the road, and aims to release the set by year's end.
