The fans have voted and the final nominations are in for Country Music Television's CMT Music Awards . Kenny Chesney , Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood lead the way with three nods apiece.
Following close behind are the Dixie Chicks , Toby Keith, Sugarland, and newcomers Jason Aldean and The Wreckers with two nominations each. The full list of hopefuls is included below.
Fans have until April 13 to vote for their favorites at CMT's website. The awards show will be broadcast live April 16 from Nashville's Curb Event Center at Belmont University. For the second straight year, CMT will also simulcast the show live at its website and on CMT Radio.
CMT viewers can also vote for their "Flatt Out Fan Favorite," the Rascal Flatts song that will open the sixth annual awards show.
The final nominees for Video of the Year will be announced at the beginning of the show, and fans can vote at CMT's website or via mobile phone throughout the broadcast to determine the big winner. Underwood, Chesney, Keith, Dixie Chicks, George Strait, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and Sugarland are competing for that honor.
This year's CMT Music Awards marks the return of the Dixie Chicks for the first time since singer Natalie Maines' controversial bashing of President Bush at a 2003 concert. Earlier this month, the trio picked up three Grammy Awards: song, record and album of the year.
CMT will debut a new category this year, Wide Open Country, to honor an artist outside of mainstream country music. Jack Ingram, Jimmy Buffett, Johnny Cash and Sheryl Crow/Sting are vying for that trophy.
Country comedian Jeff Foxworthy will return to host the event, which is country music's only fan-voted awards show, according to a press release. Tickets to the shindig go on sale Saturday (3/3).
