Jimmy Buffett books a handful of shows

Jimmy Buffett has sprinkled a few more dates onto his tour itinerary, which has the singer/songwriter/author playing in the Caribbean territory of Anguilla next month and a few US cities in April, July and September.

So far, Parrotheads in Dallas; Tinley Park, IL; East Troy, WI; and Foxboro, MA, can look forward to their leader coming to town. Foxboro will get two shows--September 2 and 8--at Gillette Stadium. US dates are listed below. Tickets go on sale Feb. 26.

Buffett is currently supporting his October release, "Take the Weather With You." It is his first new studio album since 2004's "License to Chill," a collection of country/pop duets that scored Buffett the first No. 1 record of his career.

On his latest set, the laid-back star worked with guest artists including British band Gomez, steel guitarist Doyle Grisham and Hawaiian ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro.

Last year also saw the release of the concert DVD "Jimmy Buffett - Live at Wrigley Field Double Header," which was filmed at the Chicago baseball stadium over Labor Day Weekend 2005. An audio CD of the concert is available exclusively through Buffett's label, Mailboat Records.

In addition, five new recordings by Buffett popped up last April on the soundtrack to the movie "Hoot," which the singer co-produced.

Buffett's latest video, "Getting the Picture," debuted this month in conjunction with the Sports Illustrated 2007 Swimsuit Edition. The video, which features Buffett surfing and hanging out with the SI models, is streaming at his website. Buffett has also teamed with SI to raise money for the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic and Habitat for Humanity Musicians' Village. A guitar, signed by the musician and 20 swimsuit models, will be auctioned on eBay.
