Alison Krauss & Union Station will join with bluegrass guitar legend Tony Rice on tour this spring, exclusively performing music from Rice's catalog.
"It's hard to find words to say what an influence Tony Rice has been on people of our generation who grew up in bluegrass," Union Station bassist Barry Bales said in a press release.
The unique pairing will kick off April 21 in Chattanooga, TN, with 11 shows scheduled in an outing that runs through late May.
The performances will feature Rice's guitar work augmented by the vocals and fiddle of Krauss; Dan Tyminski on guitar, mandolin, and vocals; Ron Block on guitar, banjo, and vocals; Bales on bass; longtime Rice associate Jerry Douglas on Dobro; and drummer Larry Atamanuik.
"The hardest thing is not picking which songs to do--it's deciding which songs not to do," said Bales in the release.
