Moneen to launch US headlining tour

Toronto punk/pop foursome Moneen will launch a US headlining tour in March as the band continues to back 2006's "The Red Tree" and a special-edition dual-disc EP that the group is hawking through its website.

The Canadian outfit will kick off its headlining run March 1 in Bakersfield, CA, following a trek across its homeland as part of a punk package that also features Billy Talent , Rise Against and Anti-Flag . That 13-date arena tour runs from mid-January through early February.

Moneen's own headlining trek will covers 17 dates over the first three weeks of March, with support from Pistolita and Dameira. Details are included below.

The new EP, titled "Saying Something You Have Already Said Before: A Quieter Side of Moneen," consists of five new songs and a bonus DVD that contains concert footage. The set can be purchased through the band's website, and will be shipped free to fans who order a copy of "The Red Tree" online.

Released in April of last year, "The Red Tree" is Moneen's third full-length studio album. Several songs and videos from the set are currently streaming at the band's website.
