Another round of dates has been announced for the upcoming Sevendust tour, which kicks off Feb. 8 in Ft. Wayne, IN, and so far covers the midwestern and eastern US through March 10.
The Atlanta-based alt-metal rockers are expected to add more shows through the end of April, according to a press release. Diecast and Legion will fill the opening slots. Confirmed dates are listed below.
The outing will preview songs from Sevendust's forthcoming album, "Alpha," which is scheduled to hit the streets March 6. The lead single, "Driven," was recently shipped to radio, and the record's intro track, "Deathstar," is streaming at the band's website and MySpace page.
"Alpha," Sevendust's sixth studio set, is the follow-up to 2005's "Next," which turned out to be the group's first and last album on the Winedark Records label. The band signed with Winedark and created its own imprint, 7Bros. Records, after severing ties with longtime label TVT Records in 2004. Sevendust has retained ownership of 7Bros., and recently announced a partnership with Asylum Records, a Warner Music Group company.
The forthcoming album marks Sevendust's 10th anniversary, according to the band's website. A press release said to expect a vintage Sevendust sound on the new album "as the band revisits the ferocious attack that made early albums like 'Sevendust' and 'Home' cult classics among their fans."
