Eclectic rockers TV on the Radio have lined up another slate of headlining shows behind their critically acclaimed release, "Return to Cookie Mountain."
The New Yorkers, who spent most of the fall laying down roadwork in support of the disc, will return to the road with a March 1 show in Providence, RI. Opening acts have not yet been announced for the trek, which is scheduled to hit 28 cities through late April.
TV on the Radio features the core trio of vocalist Tunde Adebimpe, multi-instrumentalist David Andrew Stiek and vocalist/guitarist Kyp Malone, all of whom also contribute loops. Jaleel Bunton (drums) and Gerard Smith (bass) round out the group, which often expands to include additional musicians in concert.
"Return to Cookie Mountain" was released in September on Interscope in the US and Canada, following its July release overseas by the British label 4AD.
The group's genre-bending sound--which got a big boost in indie circles after its 2004 album, "Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes," won the 4th Annual Shortlist Music Prize--takes cues from everything from trip-hop to doo-wop to psychedelia.
