All-star lineup set for Princess Di tribute concert

Elton John , Duran Duran , Pharrell Williams and Joss Stone have all signed on for a summer 2007 benefit concert in memory of the late Princess Diana.

Andrew Lloyd Webber, Bryan Ferry and the English National Ballet round out the acts so far confirmed for the event, which will take place at London's new Wembley Stadium on what would have been Diana's 46th birthday, July 1. Many additional performers will be announced, according to the concert's website.

"Concert for Diana is a public way in which Prince William and Prince Harry are marking the 10th anniversary of their mother's death," reads a statement posted at the site. "It is an event to celebrate her life, and you are invited to join in either by buying tickets for the event, or by watching online or on television."

Tickets for the show--the price for which is set at £45 (about $90 US)--hit the box office Wednesday (12/13), and will be available at the event's website. Additional details are posted at the site.

Proceeds will benefit charities that the late princess supported, as well as charities of which Prince William and Prince Harry are patrons, according to organizers.

"I applaud Princes William and Harry for choosing to honour their mother with this concert," John said in a statement posted at his website. "I am absolutely thrilled to be performing at this great event. Diana was a personal friend and someone I greatly admired for her tireless and enthusiastic work for charity."

Princess Diana died in a car crash in August of 1997.
