Carrie Underwood maps end to busy year

"American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood will continue a busy year of touring with a slate of shows through the end of the year, as she continues to support her debut album, "Some Hearts."

The country newcomer--who has already laid down some impressive roadwork in 2006, including a recent stint performing opening duties for Brad Paisley--will resume her current outing Friday (11/3) in Lafayette, LA.

The Oklahoma native will end her year with a series of shows across the southern and southwestern states before heading north to celebrate New Year's Eve with a concert in Prior Lake, MN.

Already considered one of the most successful winners to come out of "American Idol," Underwood scored four CMT Music Awards nominations earlier this year, winning in the Female Video of the Year and Breakthrough Video of the Year categories for "Jesus, Take the Wheel," the first single from "Some Hearts."

Released late last year, "Some Hearts" has already sold nearly three million copies. "Before He Cheats," the album's third single, recently reached the top of Billboard's country music charts, marking Underwood's third straight appearance in the No. 1 slot.
