TLC Adds New Supporting Act For National Tour
K-Ci & JoJo -- one pair of the two pairs of brothers who make up R&B group Jodeci -- have been added to the initial dates of the upcoming TLC "Fanmail" tour, which will also feature Destiny's Child . Meanwhile, some tickets for TLC's first arena headlining tour have gone on sale, with others set to go on the market over the weekend.
Though Christina Aguilera told MTV News earlier this year that she would appear on the TLC tour in November, the former Mouseketeer who topped the charts earlier this year has not been confirmed for any shows. However, MTV now reports that Aguilera may join the tour in January.
Tickets for shows at the Corel Centre in Ottawa and at the Baltimore Arena are now for sale, while Saturday (10/9) onsale times are planned for shows in Grand Rapids, Mich., Providence, R.I., Dayton, Ohio, and Raleigh, N.C. Tickets for the tour's Hampton, Va., stop go on sale Monday (10/11).
Currently, the tour's final date is Dec. 3 at America West Arena in Phoenix, though confirmation of a Dec. 5 show in Las Vegas is expected soon.
TLC has scored two No. 1 singles from their current four million-selling album, ''Fanmail'' (LaFace). ''No Scrubs'' spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart, while the follow-up, ''Unpretty,'' logged two weeks at the top of the charts.
The group will be donating money to various local charities along the tour route, including the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation and the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of America.
TLC has toured only sporadically in their eight years as a group, most notably on a co-headlining jaunt with Boyz II Men in 1994.
