VH1's 'Storytellers' to feature Dixie Chicks

The Dixie Chicks recently treated fans in Los Angeles to an "intimate performance" which was captured on video for the VH1's "Storytellers" concert/documentary series.

The episode will premiere Oct. 28 on the cable network; fans can get a sneak peek at the footage by going to VSPOT, VH1's broadband site, where the Chicks' performance of "Not Ready to Make Nice" is currently streaming.

VSPOT is also planning to host a second clip, the group's "Truth #2," along with interview footage that will not be shown during the program's broadcast run.

The Texas trio played several of their most familiar works for the live crowd, as well as a few new favorites, in a set that included "Wide Open Spaces" and "Cowboy Take Me Away," as well as material from their current studio album, "Taking the Long Way."

Between songs, the group answered questions from fans in the audience, material which will be included in VH1's showing of the episode.

The Dixie Chicks are preparing to set out on the next leg of their "Accidents and Accusations Tour," which supports the platinum-certified "Taking the Long Way," their first release since Maines' now-infamous statement regarding George W. Bush prompted a firestorm of controversy surrounding the band.

On previous tours, the Dixie Chicks consistently sold out venues throughout North America. That changed on the band's current tour, when planned shows in several Southern and Midwestern cities were canceled due to soft ticket sales. The group later reshuffled its schedule to focus on areas where sales were still strong, including Canada and the Northeastern US.

The group's North American tour is scheduled to resume later this month, kicking off Oct. 27 in Ottawa, Ontario.
