Thom Yorke, in a typically enigmatic posting on his band's official website, revealed that Radiohead has begun work on its seventh album.
Yorke's post begins:
"If it scares you speechless and wakes you in the night.
If you are bothered about the flooding you keep seeing.
Or those high winds.
Or that there is something not quite right about the fact you're still Walking round in a T-shirt in October.
Please find out about the big ask campaign www.thebigask.com."
The Big Ask is a campaign to convince the British government to pass laws mandating the reduction of carbon emissions.
Yorke revealed that work was underway on the new album at the end of the post. "We've started the record properly now," he wrote. "Staring to get somewhere I think. Finally."
Hilary Duff and her boyfriend, Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, reportedly are seeking restraining orders against two men that they claim are stalking them. One of the men is a 50-year-old man who reportedly claims to be a celebrity photographer; the other is a 19-year-old Russian immigrant who rooms with the 50-year-old.
According to an AP story, the 19-year old is accused in court documents of being "obsessed" with Duff, "has stated his intention of removing his 'enemies' (i.e. those who prevent him from being with her), has stated his intention of purchasing a weapon, and has threatened to kill himself and to engage in dramatic actions to get her attention."
Actress Scarlett Johansson will be recording an album dubbed "Scarlett Sings Tom Waits " through the winter, Fox News' Roger Friedman reports.
The collection of Waits covers could be issued next spring, though its release date reportedly will be coordinated with Johansson's movie schedule.
