Guns N' Roses tour heads east

Guns N' Roses , which previously confirmed a round of seven dates in the West, has begun to stretch its tour to the opposite coast.

Four of the group's five newly announced shows are set in Florida, and the other will take place in Nashville, TN. Tickets for all five shows go on sale Saturday (9/16), according to promoters.

With the addition of the new shows, GN'R is now scheduled to visit 12 American cities in September and October. Details are shown below.

The most recent major US tour by GN'R took place in 2002. That troubled outing was cut short with more than a dozen shows remaining on its schedule after frontman Axl Rose failed to show up for two gigs. The band recently wrapped up a European trek.

Rose is the only remaining original member of GN'R. The group is currently rounded out by keyboardist Dizzy Reed, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardist Chris Pitman, drummer Brian "Brain" Mantia, and guitarists Robin Finck, Richard Fortus and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.

GN'R has been working the road in advance of its supposedly soon-to-be-released album, "Chinese Democracy." The disc, which has been in the pipeline for about a decade, and the release of which has been delayed repeatedly over the years, will be the group's first collection of original material since the early '90s. No specific release date has been announced.
