Aimee Mann packs for more touring

Singer/songwriter Aimee Mann will be back on the road in September to tackle a few weeks of tour dates in the Northeast and South.

The outing gets underway Sept. 16, when Mann is scheduled to play a set at the multi-act Austin City Limits Festival in Texas. Eleven headlining dates will follow, all but one of which will feature British singer/songwriter David Ford in the opening slot.

Mann's most recent studio album is 2005's "The Forgotten Arm," which she recorded with producer/singer/songwriter Joe Henry.

On Halloween, Mann plans to release a new holiday album dubbed "One More Drifter in the Snow." Among the songs she covered for the set are "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" (featuring narration by Grant-Lee Phillips), "Winter Wonderland" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

Additional tracks include the original "Calling on Mary" (penned by Mann and producer Paul Bryan) and "Christmastime," which was written by Mann's husband, Michael Penn.
