New York's Yeah Yeah Yeahs have added a batch of fall dates to their current tour in support of their March release, "Show Your Bones."
The indie rockers will continue their outing Thursday (8/10) in Boston, then hook up with Sonic Youth for back-to-back shows in Brooklyn beginning Friday (8/11). Fellow New Yorkers Blood on the Wall will fill in support for the Friday show, with Michigan garage rockers Awesome Color rounding out the bill on Saturday.
Following a series of European festival appearances in late August and early September, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will return home to kick off a late fall US trek Sept. 28 in La Jolla, CA. The tour covers parts of the Southwest and Southeast, including consecutive Los Angeles appearances beginning Oct. 1.
The band's full European calendar can be found on its website.
"Show Your Bones" is the follow-up to Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 2003 debut, "Fever to Tell," which brought the group into the media spotlight and earned it opening slots on tours with a number of back-to-basic guitar bands including The White Stripes and The Strokes.
"'Show Your Bones' is what happens when you put your finger in a light socket," the band said of the album on its website. "Maybe there is some of that electric current flowing through the tracks of our album illuminating us from the inside out for you to laugh at and cry to or fry to. Or not."
