Producer Dallas Austin , who pleaded guilty to cocaine possession charges last week in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and was sentenced to a four-year prison term, was pardoned Tuesday (7/4) by Dubai ruler Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

"He is on the plane and safely out of the country," Austin's Atlanta lawyer, Joel A. Katz, reportedly said in an e-mail to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Austin, 34, has worked with a long list of stars, including TLC, Madonna and Pink.

Live Nation the nation's largest concert promoter, has agreed to acquire House of Blues Entertainment Inc., the firm that operates 10 House of Blues venues, as well as eight amphitheaters.

Live Nation--which owns, operates and books about 150 concert venues worldwide--paid $350 million in cash for HOB.

In a statement, actor and HOB co-founder Dan Aykroyd said that he is delighted with the deal, which is expected to close at the end of the year.

"This configuration will be a great fit for the growth of the brand originated by myself and Isaac Tigrett in 1994," he said. "If anything, House of Blues is a survivor, we survived the equities collapse of 2000, the DOT.COM bomb and September 11. Although my own capital investment will not quite be the bonanza which my advisors might have hoped for, the important thing is that the majority of our 2,000 employees will now be assured of a bright future in a well funded company poised for exciting expansion."
