Brooks & Dunn plot second leg of tour

Country music duo Brooks & Dunn --fresh off signing a two-year contract for extended appearances at the Las Vegas Hilton--have added another round of summer tour dates as the pair continues to support their most recent album, "Hillbilly Deluxe."

The outing, which kicked off in May, now bridges into November, with the group's traditional series of Las Vegas rodeo dates to follow in December.

The pair, who traditionally play an annual series of shows at the Hilton during the National Finals Rodeo in December, will return in March and July next year for longer engagements in the hotel/casino's ballroom.

"It's really exciting. The Hilton has given us an opportunity to play more than once a year," Kix Brooks said last month at a news conference. "I'm really looking forward to a little more Las Vegas."

"We're reading Wayne Newton books now," added Ronnie Dunn. "Nah, we're going to do the Brooks & Dunn show."

"Hillbilly Deluxe," the pair's ninth album, hit stores last October. It's the follow-up to 2003's "Red Dirt Road," which continued a string of platinum-certified albums for the duo.

The new album, which has been certified gold by the RIAA, remains in the upper portion of sales charts after peaking at No. 1 in the Billboard Country Album chart.
