Briefly: Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, Sheryl Crow
Fans converged in Chicago, Sacramento and Kansas City on Thursday (5/19) to attend special appearances by Korn , Deftones and Stone Sour , three acts that will appear on this year's Family Values Tour , which kicks of July 27.
Across from Wrigley Field in Chicago, Korn's Jonathan Davis "distributed tens of thousands of dollars to fans by throwing $10 bills to thousands of people in connection with the Family Values Tour $9.99 lawn ticket price," according to a press release.
In Sacramento, Deftones' hometown, about 8,000 people showed up to see the band play a free show at Cesar Chavez Park downtown.
Stone Sour played a free show for a crowd of about 2,000 fans outside Kansas City's Beaumont Club, and also passed out Family Values Tour tickets to fans.
On Tuesday (5/16), singer Sheryl Crow , 44, reportedly gave her first public performance since she underwent breast cancer surgery in February, followed by radiation treatments.
Crow was hired by My Network TV, a new broadcast network that will launch in September, to sing three songs during a presentation to advertisers. The Crow song "A Change Would Do You Good" will be the theme to one of the network's series.
Crow plans to launch a tour next month.
